About Peter Bates

Peter Bates has published poetry, interviews, short stories, book reviews, and journalism. He’s written for The Boston Globe, The Boston Phoenix, Boston Magazine, The Potomac Review, Classical DisCDigest, and Views, the Journal of Photography. He is also a photographer and videographer. He’s aimed his camera in Europe, New York, Cambridge, Boston, Lynn, Tampa, and other locations throughout Florida. He has worked as a power plan tour guide, a vacuum cleaner coroner, a librarian, social worker, film critic, music critic, humorist, technical writer, web designer, teacher, computer consultant, and memoirist. He has  done community organizing around progressive issues such as war resistance and abortion rights. He’s working on several book memoirs: Our Sixties Abortion and Putting What Where: My Sex Education in the Fifties.
